About
Sarah Frisk is a graduate from Colby College in English and Computer Science – a combination that often made her want to pull her hair out at times since at first glance the two disciplines had nothing to do with each other. As a result, she spent her early 20s adrift in essays and code until May 2010 when she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts. She participated in Google Summer of Code her junior year of college where she helped work on the educational open source game, Tux Typing.
While Sarah is experienced in C/C++ and Java, her major passion over the past year has been exploring various opportunities with web development. A fan of html canvas as a replacement for Flash, Sarah has been experimenting with using Flash to create old school (read: Super Nintendo) style games using just html and javascript. She also is knowledgeable in CSS, PHP, MySQL, and Ruby on Rails (she even designed the RailsCamp New England logo).
While most of Sarah’s life centers around her computer – she has been known in her downtime to enjoy some D20 tabletop gaming, reading (she was an English major after all), and making video game needlepoint crafts. (She is also somewhat of a rabid Star Wars fangirl, so when talking to her try to avoid that subject for your own safety)
